(MSG) John B. & Sarah Lloyd
John
and Sarah Lloyd were married on March 6, 1942 in Phenix City,
AL. They met while he was stationed at Fort Benning,
GA.
Trooper
John B. Lloyd, Master Sergeant, served in the 9th (Horse)
Cavalry in 1929 and in the 10th (Horse) Cavalry in 1932, 2nd
Squadron, while stationed at Fort Huachuca, AZ. From 1935
to 1938 he was assigned to Troop E , 10th (Horse) Cavalry
in West Point, NY.
Later,
Trooper John Lloyd served with the 24th and 25th Infantry
Regiments, the 65th Ordnance (am) and Escort Detachment.
Trooper John Lloyd served 24 1/2 years in the U.S. Army.
He died at Walter Reed Medical Center, Washington, D.C. on
June 9, 1981.
The spirit of John B. Lloyd and the legacy of all the "Buffalo
Soldiers" lives on with his wife, Trooper Sarah Lloyd
who's dedication to the "Buffalo Soldiers" in unmatched
by any other in the group.
