Derrick Davis
Trooper
Derrick Davis was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He was
the middle child of six to Neal and Doris Davis.
They lived in Cottage Ville, a black housing project community.
The family later moved to Fort Wayne Indiana where he attended
High School. During his time in High School, Trooper
Davis excelled in sports and athletics.
Upon
graduation, Trooper Davis attended Indiana University and
earned a Bachelor's Degree in Arts & Science. He
was the first in his family to earn a Bachelor's Degree.
During his collegiate years, he attended and successfully
completed Indiana University's Law Enforcement Academy
and became a Campus Police Officer. He later moved to
Atlanta, Georgia and joined the Atlanta Police Force where
he currently holds the rank of Patrol Officer. He is
assigned to the elite Red Dog Unit and handles two police
dogs in the K-9 Unit.
Trooper Davis a 17 year veteran
of the Department and has served in the Mounted Patrol Unit
and the General Patrol Units. He is the most senior
member of The Grater Atlanta Area Chapter. He has held
the position of President for four years. He is currently
The National First Vice President and the local Vice President.
